Security access is something the tool does automaticly it will take 10 minutes  or so to get access to the system when doing ford  pats
system, if is granted it means you can program keys system is normal if denied there
is a communiction problem with one of the modules in the system the amount of
modules involved changes from car to car check wiring diagram for the vehicle been
tested mostly pcm ipc sjb gcm if you provide info of the vehicle your working on I
could be more helpfull hope this helps you in some way good luck.

I've recently run into a problem on a 98 Mustang where it grants access to the PATS system. But once it does and I try to program the 2 new keys. It is unable to communicate with the module. I've even tried replacing the transponder and PATS module and still nothing. All the wiring checks out good. So confused!

Yes is not the car is the tool, autel does not do pats very well on old ford vehicles at
least not in the past maybe a new update will take care of that problem

Old ford sometimes need "parameter-reset" before coding keys. Needed when you replace module as well.
